Wednesday presents another major test for playoff-chasing Red Bull New York in the form of the second-place New England Revolution.
With only three regular-season matches remaining, the ninth-place Red Bulls will need to reproduce the threatening attacks and the resolute defending that carried them to a 2-0 victory over Inter Miami on Saturday.
“At this time of the year, we’re excited by playing big games with a lot on the line, as we always do,” head coach Michael Bradley said ahead of Wednesday’s meeting at Gillette Stadium.
“We’ll look at New England closely and understand the things that make them a good team. We will be ready to try to do everything possible to put the game on our terms and push things and on a big night, be ready to push and be the team that is going after it every way.”
On Saturday, New York’s front three of Jorge Ruvalcaba, Julian Hall and Cade Cowell stretched Inter Miami with their pace and found open spaces with their trickery and ability to make intelligent runs.
“I thought our front three as a group really, really challenged Miami in terms of their work, their speed, their intensity and that was with the ball and against the ball,” Bradley said. “So we were really pleased with what Jorge, Cade and Jules were able to give us.”
If the Red Bulls can leave Foxborough with three points in hand, it will go a long way toward strengthening their playoff chances.
Red Bull New York and New England Revolution Lineup and Injury News Ahead of Wednesday’s Match

Red Bull New York’s first-choice central defense pairing of Julián Bazán (suspension) and Justin Che (knee) will miss out on Wednesday.
With both unavailable, it’s likely that Bradley will shift versatile defender Devin Padelford from left-back to left-center-back to play alongside Tim Parker while reinserting Matthew Dos Santos as starting left-back.
The Red Bulls called up 18-year-old defender Connor Faello on a short-term agreement. Faello previously made his MLS debut on September 30 at home against St. Louis CITY SC.
OUT: Justin Che (knee) and Julián Bazán (suspension)
New England will be without at least three players on Wednesday. Forward Leo Campana, winger Jack Harrison and midfielder Alhassan Yusuf are all confirmed to miss Wednesday’s contest. Defender Will Sands is listed as questionable.
OUT: Leo Campana (lower body), Jack Harrison (quad) and Alhassan Yusuf (hamstring)
QUESTIONABLE: Will Sands (lower body)
Full lineups for both teams will be posted here closer to kickoff.
