Gotham FC are looking to pack the house when they take the pitch for the July 15 Queens Classic at Citi Field, and they’re already halfway there.
On Thursday, the club announced that 20,000 tickets have been distributed for the midsummer match against their fierce NWSL rivals, Washington Spirit.
That mark means that Gotham has already surpassed their all-time single-game attendance record, which was set during the 2024 NWSL playoff quarterfinal against Bay FC when 15,569 spectators gathered inside Sports Illustrated Stadium.
Queens Classic Aims for Sellout Crowd at Citi Field

With Gotham and Washington meeting on the baseball diamond in a rematch of the 2025 NWSL Championship, the clubs are targeting a sellout.
Citi Field will accommodate a capacity of over 40,000 fans for the highly anticipated match, which is set to kick off at 8 p.m. Eastern Time and will be broadcast on ESPN. Between now and mid-July, the Bats will hope to sell out the event. Roughly one month ago, Gotham announced that 16,000 tickets had been distributed.
Fans attending the match will be able to see USWNT stars including Rose Lavelle, Trinity Rodman, Jaedyn Shaw, Lilly Reale, Tara Rudd and Tierna Davidson in action. International talents like Esther González, Leicy Santos, Guro Reiten, Gift Monday and others add to the spectacle in Queens.
The first 7,500 supporters in attendance will receive a special-edition bobblehead, which features Lavelle in Gotham’s “Lady Liberty” third kit alongside her beloved dog Wilma Jean.
Gotham Captain Davidson Excited To Reach New Fans

Davidson is excited to show what the club and the league are all about to New York metro area fans who haven’t taken in an NWSL match before, as well as Gotham’s passionate supporters who show up to Sports Illustrated Stadium for every match day.
“I think it’s always a fantastic opportunity to be in front of new fans, in front of families,” Davidson told South Ward Central at the March 17 Queens Classic press event. “We want those kids to bug their parents and say, “Hey, can we go to a Gotham game? We want to see this, we want to see that, I love this Gotham player.” That’s something we’re looking to see. We’re hopeful for that.”
Tickets for the July showdown between Gotham FC and the Washington Spirit at Citi Field are currently on sale at GothamFC.com/Tickets and Mets.com/GothamFC.
Gotham also announced a limited-time sale featuring $20 tickets. The sale will conclude on May 22 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time and can be accessed here.
