Tierna Davidson was asked about her long-term future with Gotham FC during Tuesday’s press conference in Pachuca, Mexico.

A local reporter asked the 27-year-old defender if she would consider playing in Liga MX Femenil. Davidson’s current contract with Gotham runs through 2027, and teams are able to negotiate with players within the final six months of their contract according to FIFA’s regulations.

“I definitely am not thinking about right now at the end of my contract and what I want to do at the end of that,” Davidson responded. “You know, I would never put anything off of the table. But for right now, I’m really focused on playing for Gotham and enjoying the time that I have on the field with the team that we have.”

“She’s not coming to Mexico,” Amorós stated.

Davidson recently completed two consecutive 90-minute NWSL appearances for the first time since September 2024. The 5-foot-10 defender missed the knockout stage of last year’s Concacaf W Champions Cup and Gotham’s victory in the tournament’s 2025 final as she was recovering from a torn left ACL.

This time around, Davidson will be ready to lead out the Bats in Wednesday’s semifinal against Club América Femenil.

Lately, she has been playing some of her best football and is grateful to have health on her side.

“I think for me, the overwhelming feeling is like joy and happiness to be able to do that,” Davidson said. “I think to be able to participate in these moments as a player, not on the sidelines, not sidelined by an injury, is such a nice feeling.”

Davidson and Gotham enter the Concacaf W Champions Cup riding a five-game undefeated streak in NWSL play.

She and her teammates will have the opportunity to extend Gotham’s all-time Concacaf W Champions Cup unbeaten record. Entering Wednesday, the Bats are 7-0-3 over the first two editions of the competition.

“There’s a hunger to perform and to prove,” Davidson stated. “But I think overwhelmingly, it’s like the day-to-day, the fact that I’m here being able to train with the team and enjoy each moment of training with the girls has been something that’s so fantastic for me. So I think that’s what I’ve found most striking about it. I’m very excited to be back in a tournament setting with a lot on the line.”

Gotham and Club América will kick off at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday. The match will be available for streaming on Paramount+ in English and on ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ in Spanish.
