Gotham FC placed rookie forward Jordynn Dudley on the season-ending injury list on Monday.
The 21-year-old was enjoying an impressive rookie season prior to the injury and was considered a candidate to win the 2026 NWSL Rookie of the Year award.
Dudley fractured her foot during a Gotham FC training session earlier this month. She was ruled out for the United States women’s under-23 team camp due to the injury.
Gotham FC president of soccer operations Yael Averbuch West said that the club will support Dudley through her recovery process and do everything possible to ensure that she makes a healthy return to action in 2027.
“We’re disappointed for Jordynn after the outstanding rookie season she has had,” Averbuch West said. “She made an impact all over the field and played an important role in our push for the NWSL Shield and strong finish to the 2026 campaign. We’ll support Jordynn throughout her recovery and do everything we can to help her return healthy for next season.”
Dudley Put Together Impressive Rookie Season Before Injury
Dudley finishes her first season with Gotham with four goals and three assists in 25 NWSL regular-season matches. Her 79th-minute goal in the NWSL Challenge Cup helped the Bats defeat the Kansas City Current.
Gotham FC will next face the rival Washington Spirit at Audi Field on October 17.
