Red Bull New York held first-place Nashville SC scoreless for 91 minutes but a Maxwell Woledzi stoppage-time goal ensured that Nashville left Sports Illustrated Stadium with three points on Wednesday.
Woledzi went unmarked and scored a 92nd-minute winner from a set piece. Since returning from the World Cup break, New York has lost four of five matches, with a 3-2 victory against Orlando City SC being the lone exception.
Michael Bradley: ‘We Let Ourselves Down’

The Red Bulls were shut out despite registering 13 shots, though only one was on target. Head coach Michael Bradley understands the frustration felt by the supporters.
“When we needed to really, really dig in and really concentrate and really compete and really be ready to deal with one more at the end of the game, we let ourselves down,” Bradley said during his post-match press conference. “So that’s it. So I said to the team after that’s a big part of us taking the real big step forward as a team.”
Forward Mohammed Sofo is already looking forward to turning the page and working out details on how to improve in training.
“We don’t have time to feel sorry for ourselves,” Sofo said. “The games are coming, we just have to recover right now, get back together tomorrow in training, and try to fix all the mistakes we made.”
The Red Bulls will next face another strong opponent in Chicago Fire FC on Saturday. Chicago defeated Orlando City SC 2-1 on Wednesday through Robert Lewandowski’s 69th-minute penalty.
Saturday’s match between Red Bull New York and Chicago is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
