United States women’s national team head coach Emma Hayes praised the clinical edge possessed by Gotham FC forward Jaedyn Shaw during Wednesday’s media availability.

Through seven NWSL matches this season, Shaw has scored four goals and recorded one assist. The 21-year-old has eight shots on target and 15 total scoring attempts.

Gotham FC head coach Juan Carlos Amorós described Shaw’s knack for getting into dangerous areas and delivering under pressure.

“Jaedyn is first and foremost a very important person in the locker room,” Amorós said earlier this month. “She’s incredibly mature for a 21-year-old and very demanding of herself. She sees the game in a special way and has technical qualities under pressure that are unique.

“Being in the right place at the right time is invaluable, and she does that consistently. She keeps growing and has so much potential. There are still many things we can help her improve, and the great thing is that she wants to improve.”
