Sean Baitinger’s rapid progress with Red Bull New York II was rewarded on Tuesday when he signed a one-and-a-half-year MLS NEXT Pro contract through the 2027-28 season.
The deal will go into effect on January 1, 2027.
Baitinger Makes Immediate Impact With Red Bull New York II
Having made his Red Bull II debut on May 17, the 18-year-old winger has shown promise with his skillful displays and versatility. His 11 goal contributions are the fifth highest among Red Bull II players this season.
“Sean is another player who has made great strides over the past few months,” Red Bull New York II head coach Dominik Wohlert said. “He can play multiple positions and brings a very interesting skillset to the table. We’re excited that he’s continuing on this path with us.”
Earlier this season, Baitinger scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal in a 5-0 demolition of Toronto FC II on June 21 at MSU Soccer Park. That day, he also became the youngest player in club history to record two assists at 17 years and 284 days old.
Baitinger, Red Bull New York II Turn Attention To MLS NEXT Pro Play-In Round
Baitinger has contributed five goals and six assists across 18 matches and 1,220 minutes played. He joined the Red Bull New York Academy from Sacramento Republic FC in 2025.
“Sean’s journey to earning his first professional contract with us is an inspiring one and we are happy to provide him with the platform to follow his goal of a professional soccer career,” Red Bull New York technical director Tiger Fitzpatrick said. “He’s made wonderful strides since joining the RB II squad this year and continues to progress daily, which is a testament to his positive attitude and growth mindset.”
Baitinger and the Baby Bulls will now focus their attention on the MLS NEXT Pro play-in round. Red Bull New York II will square off against Huntsville City FC at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, October 11 at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
