Red Bull New York head coach Michael Bradley values the input and far reaching network offered by coaching legend Jürgen Klopp.

Serving as head of global soccer for Red Bull GmbH, Klopp has an office within the RWJBarnabas Health Red Bulls Performance Center in Morris Township, New Jersey.

Klopp who ushered in seven major trophies while at Liverpool pops into the facility from time to time and offers useful guidance to the first-year MLS head coach.

On Wednesday afternoon, South Ward Central asked Bradley about Klopp’s input and former Liverpool defender Rhys Williams who has been training with Red Bull New York for several weeks.

“As a club and as an organization, are really lucky to have Jürgen and his experience and his network, so we always try to use that in the most advantageous way possible,” Bradley stated.

Williams will be without a club once his Liverpool contract expires on June 30. The 25-year-old participated in first team training with the Red Bulls on Wednesday and was engaged in several drills in view of the media.

It seems like Williams has quickly built familiarity with the squad. He called out players by name during drills and received instructions from Bradley and the technical staff.

Bradley spoke highly of Williams after training ended. Red Bull New York are yet to make a decision on whether to offer a contract to the 6-foot-5 defender.

“Rhys has made a really positive impression,” Bradley said. “He’s come in and he’s had a great attitude. He’s fit in really well with the group. We have a really good group in terms of opening their arms to new players, to guys who come in. So that part has been great.”

Bradley admitted that he plans to have discussions with Williams and his agent.

“Certainly, Rhys’ experience in the game is potentially of big value, so we’ll spend time with him, we’ll discuss with him and his agent what makes the most sense and we’ll go from there,” Bradley hinted.

Stay tuned to South Ward Central for further developments.
