Red Bull New York winger Cade Cowell believes that practice will make perfect.
The 22-year-old forward has been pouring himself into improving on the training pitch at the Red Bulls’ Whippany, New Jersey complex.
After spells with the San Jose Earthquakes and Mexican side C.D. Guadalajara, Cowell is eager to become more influential in the Red Bulls’ attack and demonstrate his best attributes to the supporters.
Cowell Focused on Improving His Game Every Day
“I train every day as hard as possible to perform on the weekend,” Cowell said during Friday’s media availability. “I hope to have a great game Saturday and show what we can do and show what I can do.”
Saturday’s meeting with FC Cincinnati will be a fresh opportunity for Cowell to impress onlookers at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
So far, Cowell has contributed one assist and a 75 percent pass completion rate through four matches played for his new club.
“I feel like I’ve shown very little of what I can do. I have a lot left to prove and show throughout the year, and I think that’s coming. It’s only five games in, and I’ve played four, so there’s still a lot of time in the season. Playing under Michael [Bradley] has been awesome. He teaches me a lot and gives me a lot of confidence to go out there and perform every day.”
Cowell Eager to Make an Impact Against FC Cincinnati
Clearly, there’s more to come from the promising winger who has made 11 appearances for the United States national team.

“I hope to always be a dangerous player,” Cowell stated. “No matter if a goal or assist comes with that — being a dangerous winger always being involved in the attack, helping our attack as much as I can. If I can run in behind and drop the defense back, it helps out a lot with space underneath.
“Whatever I can do to help, that’s what I try and do. If that’s a goal or assist, that’s amazing. I would love to do that. If not, there’s other ways to help the team also.”
Cincinnati tends to push its wing-backs forward. Perhaps Saturday will present Cowell with ample opportunities to find space and deliver the goods as an attacking threat.
