Red Bull New York head coach Michael Bradley places intense demands on his players to execute his full-throttle game plan and give their all every time that they pull on the Red Bull kit.
Through his first five matches guiding the Red Bull first team, Bradley has set the bar to the highest possible standard.
“We are going to treat every game like our lives depend on it,” the 38-year-old head coach said during Thursday’s media availability ahead of Saturday’s home match against FC Cincinnati.
Bradley Demands a Red Bull Team Built on Competitors and Fighters
Not only do his players need to possess the physical attributes to sprint hard up and down the pitch for 90 minutes, they also must fight for the badge and push themselves toward constant improvement in training sessions.
“In any team, you have to have players as many as possible [who] are competitors, fighters,” Bradley stated. “Guys who come in every single day ready to work, ready to train, excited by that, and ready to spill their heart and soul every time they step out on the field.”

Most recently, the Red Bulls suffered a 6-1 road defeat to Charlotte FC.
Bradley hasn’t allowed that disappointment to dwell in the dressing room. That’s because the focus is immediately turned to the next opponent.
“On any given weekend, that is the most important game of the season,” Bradley said. “We’re not worried about anything else. We’re not worried about what has happened the week before, we’re not worried about the next game.”
Establishing Red Bull New York’s Identity

The former United States national team captain is unwavering in his belief that if the Red Bulls play every match on the front foot, creating ample scoring chances and physically imposing themselves on the opposition, it will give his club the best opportunity to secure three points.
“We try to make a game that’s fast and put the other team in a game where the tempo ultimately is just something that they’re not used to, where we are able to press them and go after them,” Bradley explained. “Again, combine that with our football, so they are ultimately overwhelmed.
“We try to put the game on our terms every single weekend. Take the ideas that we have and how we want to play, the football that we want to play how we want to create chances. Ultimately, if we do that really well, that is going to put us in a good spot every weekend regardless how the other team plays.”
Red Bull New York has opened the 2026 MLS campaign in eighth place in the Eastern Conference with seven points gained through five matches.
Saturday will present another opportunity for the Red Bulls to make Bradley’s tactical vision come to life.
