Gotham Captain Davidson Returns to USWNT Picture

Davidson last played for the United States in the 2025 SheBelieves Cup against Japan on February 26, 2025.
Since returning to match action after a long-term knee injury, Davidson has appeared in three consecutive matches for Gotham as a substitute, logging a total of 74 minutes.
“It’s quite the introduction to come back into a three-game week, but my body feels good,” Davidson said following Gotham’s scoreless draw against the Orlando Pride on Sunday. “I’m happy to be back on the field helping the team, and hopefully working toward a start.”
Shaw Nearing Return From Hamstring Injury

Shaw is continuing to recover from a hamstring injury, but the fact that Hayes selected her means that she’s closing in on a return to match action. The 21-year-old attacker hasn’t featured for Gotham since the Bats’ regular-season road opener against Boston Legacy FC.
Recently, Gotham head coach Juan Carlos Amorós stated that Shaw is “doing well” and that she’s working closely with the club’s medical and high-performance staff in getting her closer to being match-ready.
Gotham’s five USWNT call-ups are the most of any NWSL club.
