Red Bull New York midfielder Ronald Donkor has taken great strides forward in his fourth season with the club, and his progress has been rewarded with a new long-term contract.
On Tuesday, the 21-year-old put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract extension that runs through the 2029-30 season with an option for the 2030/31 season. The Ghanaian midfielder’s new deal will begin on January 1, 2027.
Donkor has been essential to head coach Michael Bradley’s plans as a box-to-box midfielder who is thriving in New York’s counter-pressing system.
