Julian de Guzman made sweeping changes after he succeeded Jochen Schneider in the role of Red Bull New York head of sport.
Though the Red Bulls were coming off a disappointing season after missing the playoffs for the first time in 15 years, New York wasn’t far removed from their 2024 MLS Cup final appearance.
De Guzman installed Michael Bradley as the first team head coach after the former United States national team captain guided Red Bull New York II to the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Cup title.
Together, de Guzman and Bradley identified the need for the Red Bulls to play aggressive, front-footed football and began reconfiguring the roster into one, that in Bradley’s words, “goes after the other team.”
Now that the primary transfer window has shut, let’s take a look at Red Bull New York’s signings.
Red Bull New York Signings in Full:
Justin Che (Defender, Joined 12/16/2025)

Che has been a stabilizing presence in defense since his arrival from Danish side Brøndby. The 22-year-old has recently been troubled by a hamstring injury, and his value to the Red Bulls is even clearer when he’s missing from the lineup.
Cade Cowell (Winger/Forward, Joined 12/17/2025)

Cowell was acquired on an initial loan from Mexican club C.D. Guadalajara with the option for New York to sign him after the one-year loan expires. The 22-year-old offers pace and trickery on the wing, and Red Bulls supporters hope that Bradley can unlock his full potential.
Robert Voloder (Defender, Joined 1/12/2026)

Voloder joined the Red Bulls on a three-year contract with an option to have his contract extended through June 2009 following his release from Sporting Kansas City. The 6-foot-1 defender brings strength and ball-playing ability to New York’s backline.
Ethan Horvath (Goalkeeper, Joined 1/29/2026)

Signed on a free transfer from EFL League One Cardiff City, Horvath represents a bargain signing for the Red Bulls. The 30-year-old goalkeeper brings a commanding presence between the sticks and signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with options for two additional years.
Jorge Ruvalcaba (Winger, Joined 2/2/2026)

Ruvalcaba arrived in Harrison with high expectations on an initial four-and-a-half-year contract with the option to extend his contract through the 2030-31 season. The 24-year-old former Pumas UNAM winger offers something extra with his creativity and ability to take on defenders. Like Cowell, the Red Bulls are hoping that he takes his game to the next level under Bradley’s watch.
Jahkeele Marshall-Rutty (Full-Back/Winger, Joined 2/9/2026)

Marshall-Rutty has served as a reliable figure early in his Red Bulls career. The 21-year-old full-back was acquired from CF Montréal in exchange for attacker Wiki Carmona. Marshall-Rutty offers plenty of versatility in being able to line up at right-back, left-back or wide midfield, bringing high energy, athleticism and a strong work rate.
Joyeux Masanka Bungi (Defender, Joined 2/26/2026)

Masanka Bungi is yet to feature for the Red Bull New York first team since joining on loan from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig through June 30. Bradley has spoken highly of Masanka Bungi’s mental attributes and technical abilities.
Julián Bazán (Defender, Joined 3/26/2026)

De Guzman was able to add Bazán as a vital defensive reinforcement just before the transfer window slammed shut. The 20-year-old Colombian center-back has joined up with the Red Bulls on a two-and-a-half-year contract that runs through the 2027-28 season.
